According to the Guerrilla Angel Report, a trans woman found stabbed at her home by the New Brunswick, New Jersey police died from her injuries at a hospital last Tuesday.

The police later arrested a roommate, Devonte Scott, and charged him with murder. His bail has been set at $1 million dollars.

News outlets have been misgendering and using the victim’s male given name, but a reliable social media source reportedly stated she was transgender. The Guerrilla Angel Report did some checking elsewhere and all information strongly indicates that trans woman Eyricka Morgan, approximately 26, is indeed the victim.

Morgan was formerly a student at Rutgers and was involved with the North Jersey Community Research initiative. She was featured in a 2011 article about being queer in Newark and spoke about her family’s lack of support around her gender identity.

“I had to make a decision,” Morgan told the publication. “Either I be myself or let others control me. So at 14 or 15, I packed up all my stuff and I left.’’

ELIXHER will continue to monitor this story and update as details develop. Rest in power, Eyricka.
