On Sunday, June 22, 5pm ET, Community Cinema will bring you The New Black *LIVE* from Busboys and Poets in Washington, DC. Watch the The New Black online then stick around for a live panel event with Samantha Master (appears in The New Black), hip hop recording artist Tim’m West, with moderator Kimberley McLeod, founder and editor-in-chief of ELIXHER magazine. The New Black tells the story of how the Black community is grappling with protections for LGBT people in light of the recent marriage equality gains and the fight over civil rights. OVEE is a social TV experience from Independent Television Service (ITVS) serving public media and other partners with free streaming video from PBS Video, YouTube, and Ustream. It connects audiences anytime to watch together and interact with content.
