The Experiment

Sometimes we all just need a break from the drama and stonefaced activism, and want to kick back and allow ourselves to enjoy an unconventional, imaginative showcasing of queer artistry. The Generic Ensemble Company looks to provide just this service with their fifth full-length play, The Experiment. Using elements of fantasy, science fiction and vaudeville, the Generic Ensemble Company asks their audience, “What does it mean to be human?” Off-the-wall characters like a cyborg, immortal mutant, and musical mad scientist explore this topic and more in an evening-length show that examines butch/masculine narratives and turn-of-the-century freak shows.
