Dear ELIXHER Family,

Founded in 2011, ELIXHER has served as an online destination for Black lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) women. The site has become a staple for smart, empowering and authentic content. ELIXHER is proud to say that by sharing stories in columns like “InspiHERed By” which spotlights phenomenal women in the Black queer community and “Our Family” which celebrates two-mommy families, it has brought the world closer to recognizing our magic and multifacetedness.

At the core of ELIXHER is substantive stories that tells our truths and elevates our spirits. With a fast-growing team of talented women, ELIXHER has published over 400 articles.

We can’t continue to do this work without you. Here are four simple ways you can show your support:

1. Donate – Give what you can to support overhead costs like web hosting, legal/small business fees, production of promo materials, etc. ( recently raised an impressive $30,000 in one day!) Your contributions help Elixher be a self-sustaining resource for the Black queer community. Donate here!

2. Become a contributing writer – Utilize Elixher as a platform to share your brilliance with thousands of hungry eyes. Write one guest post or become a regular. Email us at for more information.

3. Attend our events – ELIXHER readers have been demanding a monthly event and I don’t blame them. I love the women ELIXHER brings together—the vibe and energy is unlike anything I’ve experienced. Join us on Sunday, August 12, 12 – 3 p.m., for our SummHer brunch event at Brooklyn’s Beso.

4. Spread the word – “Like” us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter and share our content daily. Tell a friend to tell a friend. Help us build community!

Onward and upward,

Thanks for the suggestions, LezIntellect. We often cross-post relevant content from many of the sites on our blogroll. (We’d love to add you to our blogroll as well.) And great to know about JetPack!

    I have a suggestion….

    You need content right?

Why not get permission to syndicate the content from the blogs on your blogroll? I’m sure those individuals will agree because they will get new followers from your site and you will get new content from their sites.

If you need money…get some advertising. Most of the major black blog sites are using this company….

^^^If I’m not mistaken it offers packaged advertising.
