In the most recent episode of TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress, we meet LaQuet Thompson, a beautiful and bubbly bride getting ready to marry the woman of her dreams.

“She makes me feel like warm cookies straight out of the oven,” says the tearful bride-to-be about her fiancé, Lauren Michelle Pringle. “I’m so excited to be her wife!”

In this episode, “Not What I Had in Mind” (which aired Friday, September 27), LaQuet, a Broadway performer, is looking for a fun gown with straps that won’t accentuate her killer dancer arms.

“I want a dress that’s just fun,” she explains. “Something that just reeks of ‘yay.'”

Originally from Dallas, TX, LaQuet has been living in New York City for the past 8 years performing in different Broadway shows. She brings her supportive mother, bridesmaid, and sister-in-law in tow to take on the task of locating her dream dress (of course, nothing else suffices when you’ve found your dream woman). The duo met four years ago through a mutual friend.

say-yes-to-the-dress-laquet-5“Lauren is the much more grounded person and I’m the much more upbeat, crazy, hopping around all the time person,” LaQuet shares smiling. After trying on an array of gowns (a strapless dress even becomes a strong contender because it compliments her toned arms), LaQuet lands a stunning number that both she and her entourage love. The lace cap sleeves and eye-catching open-back detail leave them all in awe.

“I’m through the moon right now,” her mother says. “I’m so happy for her.”

Their destination wedding takes place in Cancun, Mexico. The fun and fitting theme is “drunk, tanned, and married.”

“That’s how much fun we’re going to have,” LaQuet beams.

“I think LaQuet is gorgeous–a classic beauty,” Lauren says. “My wife walking down, I think, is the best part.”

The feeling is clearly mutual.

“The only thing I could think about is breathe,” LaQuet adds. “Because I can’t believe how stunning she is.” Certainly not the easiest thing to do when the woman you’re about to spend your life with takes your breath away.

Congrats, LaQuet and Lauren! We wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!
