With Pride season seemingly never ending, New York has saved one of its best for last with Bed-Stuy’s second annual gay pride celebration. One of the queerest neighborhoods of color in all of New York City will showcase its unique cultural flair with performances from guests like Orikl, Sons of Unity and the Lavender Light Gospel Choir. The SOS (Safe OUTside System) Collective has organized an afternoon of vendors, performances and skill-shares which all support an initiative to end and intervene in hate violence against the queer and gender non-conforming communities. Workshops will offer knowledge on an array of diverse topics, such as navigating gendered bathrooms, running in heels, and Spanish poetry writing. With music, entertainment, rallies, and educational offerings, Bed-Stuy pride has a little bit of everything for everyone as the summer winds down. Don’t miss out!
